Why do a Video Will or Codicil?
  • Isn't my "Last Will and Testament" Enough?

The use of Video Will and Codicils has become a prudent legal practice both for the attorney and for the testator. The reasons are sound:

  1. A video will is a simultaneous recording of both audio and visual events which clearly show the testator’s mental and physical state of being. A video will clearly show testators state of mind, and will minimize challenges to the will itself.

  2. A video will correctly depict those persons present at the signing of the will.

  3. The video will show that the testimony was voluntarily made without any type of improper inducement. This is an area where a non-video will is lacking.

  4. There is a growing recognition among the legal system that video wills convey greater indicia of reliability than audio testimony of the event itself.

  5. A video will by a certified professional, disinterested third party, is the most effective method of preserving testimony or reconstructing an event when it comes to presenting visual evidence in court.

  6. As a Certified Court Videographer with the American Guild of Court Videographers (Certified Court Video Specialist), I'm a certified professional who understands the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure 30(b)(4), which governs the taking of video events to be admitted in a court of law.

  7. If it is believed that relatives or beneficiaries might want to challenge the will after death, by all means have the will videoed. This will assure the true intentions of the testator are followed.

  8. A video will provides quick and easy access for loved ones after the testator’s death. As a Video Will with time-date code generation, there is less likelihood of challenges to the will and video because the certified legal video helps eliminate claims that the video was edited, erased or otherwise altered.

  9. As a Certified Court Videographer, I will be present to testify in court as to the validity of your video. A friend or relative would not have this type of standing in a court of law (additional fees apply).
We provide you with the most reliable and professional service as only Certified Court Video Specialists, certified by the American Guild of Court Videographers, can deliver.
